TRASH TALK

A new publication composed of trash texts and trash images drawn from the ‘dumpster’ or ‘skip’ series by Merrill Rauch.

TRASH/TALK came about by chance or by accident but certainly by entering the relatively uncharted world of menopause. The ebb and flow of this hormonal shift in the female body set loose a tempest of pent-up emotion in which the artist found some release by putting down in writing the turbulent uncensored thoughts of her inner life. The images counterbalance this, abstract, active, impassioned.

Merrill Rauch hopes that readers find the work as liberating to read as the freedom she found in the writing of it. Or at the very least, enjoy the pictures.
